The Flower Thief

Sassy loves flowers. Sadly for my neighbors, she is always picking their most beautiful flowers. (Sorry neighbors! I really am!)

Well, the other day, she picked a beautiful daffodil. She was so proud and wanted a picture taken. After promising me that she wouldn't pick another flower from our neighbors yard (I know....I know....fat chance but one can hope!) I took this picture:

After taking the pic, I watched Sassy stroke the petals of the poor molested flower and say, "I will be the best mommy! I will take care of you forever...."

Sadly, Sassy found the water in the vase to be too tempting. The next day, I found the flower dead in the waterless vase. I asked Sassy, "What happened to all the water?"

She said, "I drank it! It was tasty!"

Me, "Uhh....flowers need water to live. I am afraid your flower is dead."

Sassy, "I was just sharing with it..."

"Sharing to Death" sounds like an after-school special. Nice.....

Sadly, it would have died anyway. Perhaps her sharing just brought about the inevitable that much quicker, thus putting the poor flower out of its misery. She is HUMANE.

Sharing to Death sounds like a commentary on motherhood some days. Can I have some?

well...at least Sassy treats her baby flowers the same way she treats her baby dolls...she lures them in by promising that she will love them and take care of them, but soon after the abuse starts...its a vicious cycle she could have only learned from her mother....so sad

Dear Gary...I have noticed lately that a lot of her play sounds a lot like something she has learned from you. She even does the accent very well...what do you have to say for yourself? Hmmmmm?

It's not all me brother!

She looks so sweet and innocent in that picture. You would think that someone just gave her the flower because she is so darn cute.

"... I will love him, and hug him, and pet him, and name him George!"

I'm sure you got that, but I forgot the best part:

"Tell me about the rabbits, George!"
