Cleaning

Sassy and I cleaned her room together. For once, it was painless and enjoyable. When we were finished, I gave her a high-five and a hug. As we hugged I told her, "You are the best little helper! You are my helper from heaven!"

She hugged me back and said, "Yes...yes I are!"

I laughed and told her that Doughie was going to be pleased when she saw how clean their room now was. Sassy said, "Doughie is going to be SOOOOO happy!" Overall, the cleaning was a great experience.

Later, when Doughie got home from school I heard Sassy shouting at her, "Don't mess it up Doughie! DON'T DO IT! It was really HARD cleaning up YOUR mess! I HATED IT!"

Nice.....

Whenever my kids say stuff like that I wonder if they are parroting me (if not in words, than in attitude)...and then I decide, no, of course not, I am always patient and kind and happy to be in service to others

Sadly, our room cleaning experiences usually end in someone very frustrated. (usually me)

Don't let it get you down. She was probably telling the truth both times. I'm sure it was good to spend the time cleaning with you, but we humans are deeply ingrained with prejudice against the ultimate four-letter word: WORK!

Also, probably just getting digs in on her big sister. You know she loves it!

Funny that she would have an enjoyable time with you, then tell Doughie she hated it. Children are a conundrum!

This is the age old fight in our house. We recently moved stuff around in one of the rooms and I am still getting grief for it...

That is so cute! It is actually the other way around in our house. Jayson cleans with me and Carson dumps out all the toys, just after every bin is sorted and put on the organizer, he dumps, dumps, dumps!

I imagine Sassy liked how nice it was once her room was clean and was trying to convince Doughie not to mess it up again.

Of course, that probably won't last long. By tomorrow morning, you can probably expect Sassy to have scattered toys and household items around the house. There will be snow boots on the couch in the living room, underwear on the bathroom floor, a cereal bowl on the stairs, and a scribbled-on drawing pad in a corner of the kitchen with a your bathrobe tie knotted around a pencil! :D
